Sport™ In-Ground Fixed Height Basketball Goal

The First Team Sport is a fixed-height in-ground basketball goal for a permanent recreational court: a home, school or recreation court where the rim stays at one height. It is a different choice from a routinely adjustable home goal: compare it when your installation calls for a set playing height. Its packages offer different backboard sizes and components. Is the Sport the Right Fixed-Height Goal for Your Court?

The Sport: a 4" x 4" 11-gauge (1/8" wall) steel post, a 24" post-to-backboard extension and 36" x 48" to 36" x 60" backboards. It installs by direct burial (36" depth, per the specifications on this page) or on an optional base plate.
Need more reach or a larger board? Compare the First Team Legend: a 6" x 6" post, 66" from the front of the post to the face of the backboard, and 42" x 60" and 42" x 72" packages, including steel boards.
Want to change the height after installation? See our adjustable basketball goals. The Sport's height is set along the post with U-bolts during setup; it isn't a crank system.

The Sport ships by LTL freight with a delivery appointment, and delivery is curbside; review our freight delivery rules before the delivery date.

First Team FT75 pole padding: listed for compatible 4" and 5" posts. Check fit for your package.
First Team FT60 backboard padding: designed for most 60"-wide backboards.

Sport In-Ground Goal Questions

Is the Sport adjustable?

No. The Sport is a fixed-height goal. Its height is set along the post with U-bolts during setup, not changed with a crank.

Direct burial or base plate?

Both are offered as variants. A base plate is for bolting down to a suitable concrete footing. Follow First Team's instructions for the package you select.

What warranty does the Sport carry?

The Sport II, III and Select packages carry First Team's Lifetime Limited Warranty. The Sport Prime carries First Team's Lifetime Limited Warranty (R), which covers residential use only, so it isn't covered for school, park or other non-residential courts. The warranty covers damage caused by normal basketball activity and normal player contact. Deliberate hanging on the rim, multiple-player hanging, vandalism, normal weather/UV wear and other manufacturer exclusions are not covered. How does delivery work?

Standard order processing is 2 business days, with a 3 PM Central cutoff, Monday through Friday. Estimated shipping time is 7–10 business days. Special padding colors or custom pads add an additional 7–10 days for production. See our shipping information for details.

LTL Freight Shipping Notice:

This product ships via Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) motor freight due to its heavy weight and oversized dimensions.

Delivery Appointment Required: The freight carrier will call you directly to schedule a delivery window prior to arrival.
Curbside Delivery: Standard delivery service includes curbside offloading. You are responsible for moving the shipment onto your property or into your facility.
Inspection Required: Please inspect all packages and boxes thoroughly for any visual damage before signing the delivery receipt. Note any damages on the bill of lading with the driver.
