ORDERS
Contact us as soon as possible at [email protected] or (405) 339-0055 if you need to change or cancel an order.
Inspect your order when it arrives and contact us right away if an item is defective, damaged or incorrect, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right. For freight deliveries, note any damage on the delivery slip before you sign, refuse the delivery and contact us as soon as possible. For items damaged during shipping, the 35% restocking fee is waived, and returns and replacements are handled through the freight carrier or shipping insurance, subject to the applicable claim process. Contact us for instructions before you send anything back: [email protected] or (405) 339-0055. See our refund policy for the full terms.
SHIPPING
Standard order processing is 2 business days, with a 3 PM Central cutoff, Monday through Friday. Orders placed after the cutoff, or on a weekend, begin processing the next business day. Estimated shipping is 7–10 business days. Processing and shipping are separate stages, and these are estimates rather than guaranteed arrival dates. Special-color or custom pads require an additional 7–10 days of production time. If you have a deadline, contact us before ordering at (405) 339-0055 or [email protected].
Orders of $2,500 and up qualify for free shipping within the contiguous 48 states and Washington, DC. Existing product-based shipping rates apply to orders below $2,500, so a small item such as a net costs far less to ship than a goal or backboard. Your shipping cost is shown at checkout. See our Shipping Info page for processing and delivery details.
Delivery outside the continental 48 states requires a custom freight quote. Contact us with the product and delivery location before placing your order. Alaska, Hawaii, and destinations outside the contiguous 48 states and Washington, DC are not eligible for free shipping. See our Shipping Info page for details.
Standard freight delivery is to the end of your driveway. If you ask the driver to move the product into a garage, backyard, side yard, or beyond the driveway, the carrier considers this inside delivery, and any additional fee is your responsibility. Inspect your shipment before signing the delivery receipt. If it is damaged, note the damage on the delivery slip, refuse delivery, and contact us as soon as possible. Have the equipment you need to unload your order ready: if unloading takes longer than 30 minutes after the driver arrives, the carrier will charge a detention fee. See our freight delivery rules for the full checklist.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Yes. You have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. The item must be in the same condition you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging, and you will need your receipt or proof of purchase. To start a return, email [email protected]. Ordinary returns are subject to a 35% restocking fee, and you are responsible for arranging and paying return freight. If your return is accepted, we will send you a return authorization number and instructions. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. See our refund policy for the full terms.
The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the item you have. Once your return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. The same return terms apply, including the 35% restocking fee, and you arrange and pay for return freight. See our refund policy for the full terms.
Certain items cannot be returned, including custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), sale items and gift cards. Special-color and custom pads are custom products and cannot be returned. Contact us if you have questions about a specific item. See our refund policy for the full terms.
After we receive and inspect your return, we will tell you whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. Refund processing can take up to 30 days, and your bank or credit card company may need additional time to post it. See our refund policy for the full terms.
BUYING ADVICE
It depends on whether you plan to move the goal. If you will move it around regularly, start with a portable goal and plan the route it needs to travel. If you want a fixed outdoor playing position, look at in-ground. If you want in-ground but may move house, consider a bolt-down model. Neither option removes the need for correct setup.
Only if it is a bolt-down model. The post bolts to an anchor system installed in concrete rather than being buried in the footing, so it can be relocated, but moving it still means dismantling it, transporting it and installing it on a suitable new foundation. The First Team Slam is available with a baseplate (bolt-down) mounting option, so choose that option deliberately.
For an indoor gym where competitive-style rebound matters, we usually recommend tempered glass. For an outdoor home court or a goal people can reach unsupervised, we usually recommend acrylic. That is practical buying advice, not a rule: First Team also sells outdoor-rated glass backboards.
Check fit before you choose a material or size. A board with the same width can have a different bolt pattern, rim attachment, weight or hardware requirement. Send us photos of your attachment bracket and measurements of the mounting points so we can confirm your existing support can accept the replacement.
Choose a 54-inch board when budget is the deciding factor, a 60-inch board for most recreational play, and a 72-inch board when a facility plans league or tournament basketball. The 54- and 60-inch First Team packages we feature use 36-inch-high boards, while a full-size competition board is 42 × 72 inches.
NBA hoops are set at 10 feet, and 10 feet is the standard rim height from junior high school through the professional leagues. The height traces back to 1891, when James Naismith nailed the first peach baskets to a gym balcony rail that happened to be 10 feet high. Youth players often use adjustable hoops that can be set lower.
Fury and Thunder each provide 48 inches of extension at a 10-foot rim height, with hand-crank height adjustment from 6 feet 6 inches to 10 feet. Fury's backboard options go up to 60 inches wide, while Thunder offers options up to 72 inches and a different warranty tier. Storm offers an adjustable 54–66 inches of extension with spring-assisted pin adjustment from 6 to 10 feet.
For residential in-ground goals, start with the First Team Champ, Slam and Vector. For portable goals, consider the Omni series. For a wall-mounted basket mainly used for shooting around, look at the Versi series. These are series names, so check the package and size option you select.
If the gym needs to clear for other activities, consider an appropriate commercial portable or a folding wall mount, and plan the storage position as well. Check the doorway width and the full storage route before you buy a commercial portable.
