Basketball Goals for Schools: New Gyms & Replacements
Schools buying basketball goals often come to us with one of two jobs: replace equipment on an existing court or equip a new gym or outdoor play area. Those projects call for different starting points. Quality Hoops helps schools compare the goal, backboard, rim, and height-adjustment options that fit their facilities and competitive programs.
Explore Equipment for Your Project
Browse the relevant equipment, then send us your project details for a quote. Confirm mounting, court measurements, and the selected package before ordering.
Replacing an Existing School Goal
For a replacement, measurements come first. We need to know what is already installed, where the backboard and rim attach, and how much of the structure the school plans to keep. Photos of the existing bracket and mounting points help us check whether a new backboard and rim can fit the current system. Matching only the old board's width is not enough to establish compatibility.
On an outdoor court, a First Team RetroFit42 or RetroFit36 may be worth considering when the existing post and site are suitable. We compare the measurements and the selected retrofit package with the current structure before recommending one. If the old structure is unsuitable, replacing the complete goal may be the better path.
Equipping a New School Gym or Court
For a new gym, tell us how the court will be used for competitive games and whether it also serves PE classes or younger students. We can compare indoor basketball goals, including wall-mounted and portable systems, around the layout and applicable playing requirements. Outdoor school courts may call for in-ground or fixed-height systems.
For a gym that hosts competitive games and also serves smaller children, ask whether a compatible height adjuster can be part of the system. The basket can be used at the height required for games and adjusted for younger players when the selected equipment allows it. We check the adjuster's mounting and range against the actual backstop rather than assuming one accessory fits every goal.
Choose the Backboard and Overhang with the Court in Mind
Schools often have questions about backboard materials and sizes. For competitive indoor play, glass is a common choice, but the relevant league or association specifications should guide the final configuration. For outdoor play, we consider the exposure, maintenance needs, and the complete system. We also check overhang: the position of the backboard relative to the pole or portable base affects the space available beneath the basket.
Quotes and School Purchase Orders
Most school projects we handle begin with a quote. The school sends it through its purchaser, then issues a purchase order for us to process. If your school needs specifications, submittal sheets, a W-9, or tax-exempt paperwork, tell us when requesting the quote. Payment terms, including any 30-day terms measured from delivery, should be confirmed on the approved quote and purchase order.
Request a school basketball goal quote with the project scope, indoor or outdoor location, photos and measurements for a replacement, intended level of play, and the models you are considering. We can help decide whether a retrofit, new backboard and rim, or complete system best fits the project.
