Quality Hoops Youth Basketball Camp Scholarship
Quality Hoops • Community
More opportunity.
More time on the court.
Basketball builds confidence, friendships, and skills that reach beyond the game. The Quality Hoops Youth Basketball Camp Scholarship is designed to help young players attend camp when cost stands in the way.
We bring the same care to supporting the basketball community that we bring to helping families, schools, and organizations choose quality basketball equipment.
2027 program — applications are not open yet.

Who can apply
A parent or legal guardian may apply on behalf of a young athlete who wants to learn, develop skills, and be part of a positive basketball environment. Coaches, schools, and community organizations may help a family prepare an application with the guardian’s permission.
Eligibility
- The athlete lives in the United States and falls within the approved age range when camp begins.
- The family faces a financial barrier to paying the camp’s registration or tuition fee.
- The camp is in the United States, accepts the athlete’s age group, and has a place available for the requested session.
- A parent or legal guardian submits the application and can coordinate registration with the camp.
- Submit one application per athlete per award cycle.
No purchase, competitive team membership, minimum playing level, or lengthy essay is required. A scholarship application is separate from camp admission.
What the scholarship covers
Each scholarship covers the full remaining registration or tuition fee for one approved camp session. If the athlete receives other camp aid, Quality Hoops covers the eligible tuition balance so the family does not pay camp tuition for that session.
Payment goes directly to the approved camp after the family accepts the award and registration details are verified. Families are responsible for separately charged expenses outside camp registration or tuition.
Travel, transportation, lodging, meals charged separately, personal equipment, and unrelated expenses are outside the award. Families should review the full camp cost before applying. Please do not pay a nonrefundable deposit expecting reimbursement; an application does not guarantee an award.
How to apply
- Choose a camp. Identify a basketball camp and session that fit the athlete’s age, interests, and availability. Ask the camp about space, total fees, registration deadlines, and cancellation terms.
- Prepare a short application. Include the guardian’s name and email; the athlete’s first name, age at camp start, and city/state; the camp’s name, website, contact details, and session dates; and the tuition fee, other camp aid, and amount of help requested.
- Tell us why it matters. In a few sentences, describe what the athlete hopes to gain and why assistance would help. Writing style and basketball ability are not selection criteria.
- Submit after applications open. When applications open, email [email protected]. Use the subject “Youth Basketball Camp Scholarship — [Athlete’s first name].” Plain email is sufficient; no PDF essay is needed.
Please do not include Social Security numbers, tax returns, bank information, medical records, or a child’s full birth date. Any necessary follow-up information will be requested from the guardian directly.
How recipients are selected
Quality Hoops will review complete, eligible applications for financial need, the benefit of the camp experience, and whether the requested session can be arranged within the program’s schedule and direct-payment process.
The process considers all applications received by the deadline together. If equally qualified applications exceed available awards, a random draw will decide among those applications. Recipients and other applicants will receive the outcome by email.
No purchase or publicity is required to receive an award. Families are not required to provide photos or testimonials. Any optional story sharing requires separate guardian consent.
Timeline & deadlines
- Applications open: January 1, 2027 (planned; check this page for confirmation)
- Application deadline: May 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time
- Decisions sent: Within 30 days after applications close.
- Camp registration: The guardian and camp confirm the available place, session, fee, and payment arrangements before funding is sent.
Choose a camp whose registration deadline allows time for review. Scholarships apply to the approved award cycle and 2027 camp session; an award is not a reservation until the camp confirms registration.
Guidance for camps & basketball organizations
Families may propose a camp run by a school, recreation department, nonprofit, or established basketball organization. A camp does not need to sell Quality Hoops equipment to be considered.
Before payment, Quality Hoops will verify the camp’s organizer and contact information, suitable age group, session availability, tuition invoice, ability to accept direct payment, and cancellation/refund terms. Families should also ask the organizer about supervision, safety procedures, and accessibility needs.
Camps interested in supporting an applicant can provide session dates, a fee breakdown, a registration contact, and payment instructions. If a session is canceled or an athlete cannot attend, contact Quality Hoops before changing the funded session; unused scholarship funds will return to the program under the agreed camp terms.
No participating camp partnerships have been announced. Camp review does not replace a family’s own assessment of the program.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a college scholarship?
No. This program helps young athletes attend basketball camp. It does not cover college tuition, textbooks, or other academic expenses.
Does my child need to be an advanced player?
No. Beginners and experienced players are welcome, provided the camp is appropriate for the athlete’s age and skill level.
Can a coach or organization apply for a family?
A coach or organization may help identify a camp and prepare an application. The parent or legal guardian should submit it and manage the athlete’s participation.
Can siblings apply?
Each eligible athlete may have one application per cycle. Each application will be reviewed individually; funding for one sibling does not guarantee funding for another.
Can we choose our own camp?
Yes. Families may propose a suitable camp. The organizer, session, available place, and payment arrangements must be verified before an award is finalized.
What does “full ride” mean?
It means the full registration or tuition fee for one approved basketball camp session, after other camp aid. Separately charged travel, lodging, meals, and personal equipment are not included.
Should I register or pay before a decision?
Check the camp’s deadlines and cancellation terms, but do not assume an application guarantees funding. Previously paid fees are not reimbursed under the direct-payment process.
Do we have to share our story publicly?
No. Publicity is optional and requires separate guardian permission. An application will not automatically authorize the use of an athlete’s name, photo, or story in marketing.
Are applications open now?
No. Applications are planned to open January 1, 2027. Please check this page for confirmation and apply only after the program opens.
